The Tamperer (Mario Fargetta & Alex Farolfi) featuring singer Maya had a couple huge dance hits in the late 1990s with "If You Buy This Record (Your Life Will Be Better)", which sampled Madonna's "Material Girl", and "Feel It", which sampled The Jacksons' "Can You Feel It". They released one album and then this non-album track, which apparently samples ABBA's "Gimme Gimme Gimme", along with another new song, "Step Out".| 1 | Hammer To The Heart (Metro Extended Mix)

Real McCoy broke up after a successful run of hits in the mid-1990s. In 1999, three new members were pulled together and released this single, as well as a remake of one of Real McCoy's earliest hits, "It's On You". Both bombed and an album never surfaced. This year the creator and original rapper Olaf reformed the group with two new girls, and they have toured Canada and are releasing new material.| 1 | Hey Now (Original Radio Version)

Here is the maxi-single for Tekla's "Somebody Else", which was her biggest 'hit' internationally and the title track off of her album. It includes the album version (the album itself is featured on The Isle Of Deserted Pop Stars) as well as the extended version of the Precision Mix, the edit of which is also on the album. Even better is the NYC House Mix.| 1 | Somebody Else (Album Version)

Sheryl Lee Ralph is best known as an actress from her performance in Dreamgirls on Broadway and the television shows It's A Living and Moesha. But she also released music, and had a top ten dance hit in 1984 with "In The Evening", the title track from her only solo album. She had another top 40 dance hit from the album, "You're So Romantic", and also released remixes of another album track in 1997, "Evolution". But the only new track she released since her debut was the song featured here, a euro-house remake of one of Eurythmics' best hits.| 1 | Here Comes The Rain Again (Main Radio Mix)

Star was a Swedish girl group who made synth-rock music. This is their remake of Kiss' post-makeup single (which, incidentally, I sang at karaoke this weekend. ;) They later renamed themselves Starz!? (due to another group with the same name) and released the album Party, available on the Isle Of Deserted Pop Stars!). Obviously their success was limited. A eurohouse version of the track is included here.| 1 | Heaven's On Fire (Fresh Radio Edit)

Bliss was a Canadian R&B/pop girl group. They released only two singles, this being their first, followed by "Can't Deny". They were minorly successful in Canada, and I had the fortune of meeting one of them years later at a friend's house party (the blonde front and center on the CD cover). She was shocked and thrilled that I recognized her, and basically said the group didn't get enough publicity and support to bother continuing on. The mixes here are R&B and house.| 1 | Butterflies (Radio Mix)

Jump & Joy! were apparently German and an obvious attempt to cash in on the Spice Girls' audience, as so many other girl groups did. But they only managed a few singles - this, "Sunny Day" and the incredibly cheesy "Vamoz Everybody" (the video for which is on Youtube), and their sound owed more to the Vengaboys than the Spice Girls. One of their members, Diana Fox, found greater success as a trance singer.| 1 | Let's Roll (I Like It) (Radio Mix)

I bought this single thinking it was a new track from Abigail Zsiga, the Abigail featured on the Isle Of Deserted Pop Stars. But after listening to it, I realized the voice wasn't quite the same, and the music was very different, not eurohouse but soul-pop. This Abigail appears to be Canadian, and that's about all I can find out. That being said, it is quite a pleasant song, very groovy - the original mix is like early Britney, the remixes are more hip hop (and better IMO).| 1 | Let's Communicate (Original Cut)
